Shannon Dare and Sharna Hill

Our two new team members have a wealth of knowledge and experience in holistic patient centred care. We welcome Shannon Dare and Sharna Hill.

Shannon is our newest member to the Specialist Hearing team. After graduating from Notre Dame University, Shannon worked as a Registered Nurse for 9 years in public and private healthcare where she developed her keen interest in ears! Shannon originally specialised in paediatrics at Princess Margaret Hospital and The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne working in various fields including plastics, orthopaedics, adolescents, respiratory and in operating theatre. She later completed post-graduate studies in Child and Adolescent Health Nursing at Curtin University, which led her to specialise in infants and early childhood healthcare.

Working in the community as a child health nurse Shannon was fortunate to visit remote regions of Australia and work together with Aboriginal families and their communities to provide education on childhood development and promotion of healthy lifestyles. After developing a keen interest in ENT Shannon began to run clinics and assist in ENT operations such as cochlear implants, sinus surgeries, complex ears and airway cases. It is here where she decided to focus on ENT, enrolling in the Master of Clinical Audiology at UWA to further her knowledge in hearing.

Shannon has since had the opportunity to gain experiences in diagnostics, paediatrics, electrophysiology and vestibular issues. Due to her diverse background and experience, Shannon is able to provide holistic healthcare to her patients, covering both audiological and general medical care.

In addition to Audiology, Shannon leads a very healthy and active lifestyle and has two loving Cavoodles (Peggy and Arnold) who keep her very occupied. She is getting married in February and is busy planning her wedding and honeymoon to France, where she cannot wait to sample the local produce….. The wine and cheese!
