Children’s Hearing Tests
Children are prone to experiencing middle ear conditions which can lead to temporary hearing loss. While permanent hearing loss is very rare in childhood, it is important to have your child’s hearing tested regularly particularly if there is a family history of hearing loss, there were complications during the pregnancy or birth, if your child’s speech and language is delayed or if you have any concerns.
Our university trained Audiologists have worked with the best Paediatric Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists for many years and have the knowledge, experience and patience to assess your child and expedite any treatment should it be necessary at the same time as making it a pleasant experience for your precious little one.
Our current facilities mean we can test children from 3 years of age or older. We can recommend alternatives if your child is under 4 years of age and has a physical or intellectual disability. However, in some cases children as young as 2 have had the capacity to perform the tasks of play audiometry. Children under this age can be assessed for middle ear problems objectively.
