Background
About Chris
Chris grew up in the Netherlands in a family that works in hearing care. His grandfather was an ear, nose and throat specialist, and his parents founded their own hearing clinic. He trained in audiometry, the measuring of hearing, graduated in 2014, and then worked in the family clinic across all parts of hearing care.
He moved to Australia in 2020 and worked for a hearing aid manufacturer, representing it in Western Australia and South Australia. He then became NSW Clinical Sales and Operations Manager for a large Australian hearing aid retailer. In both jobs he trained clinicians, taught them about the products, and helped them solve problems with fittings.
The arrival of his twin daughters brought him back to seeing clients. He and Sara Caspani took over Specialist Hearing Services in August 2025, and he now sees clients through every stage: the hearing test, choosing a device, and the support and fine-tuning after it. He also carries out Lyric assessments and fittings, looks after the clinic's links with referring doctors and suppliers, and trains staff.
Chris is a certified Lyric provider and has trained clinicians in other countries to fit it. He asks about your lifestyle, how you communicate and what you hope to achieve, then gives you a clear, honest recommendation and leaves the choice with you. He is a member of the Australian College of Audiology (ACAud), which incorporates the Hearing Aid Audiometrist Society of Australia (HAASA).
