Background
About Nicole
Nicole started out supporting people with disability, which is where she found she wanted to work in care. She studied nursing at Curtin University, graduating in 2013, and worked as a registered nurse for seven years.
For five of those years she cared for adults in a private hospital, across general medical and post-surgical care, urology, gynaecology, vascular, orthopaedic and neurosurgical wards. She also completed a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing at the University of Notre Dame and helped mentor student and graduate nurses.
She then went back to the disability organisation where she had started, as a community nurse. The work covered wound care, working with the wider care team, training and supporting carers, and reviewing and planning each client's care.
After seeing what hearing aids did for a relative, Nicole went back to university and completed a Master's degree in Clinical Audiology. She joined Specialist Hearing Services in 2022 and sees clients from diagnosis through choosing a device to ongoing support.
